The story...
began in late 2009 when we thought about setting up a group to encourage film making and to help local filmmakers turn their ideas into realities.
As filmmakers ourselves we understand how hard making a film can be so we believe the best way to do that is to allow local film makers to get in touch with each other, pool their resources and lend one another a hand when a film is being made.
Through their contacts, the group grew quickly and now consists of over 100 members registered through the website, Facebook page and mailing list.
Today CIFA is one of the best known film groups in the area.
We continue to work very hard to promote the group and encourage grass root filmmaking. In 2010, CIFA made its first appearance at the Cambridge Film Festival, where Malcolm gave a talk about routes into filmmaking and the industry.
Part 2
At CIFA our aim is to help people get into films, whether you are a budding director, set designer, effects specialist or actor. Now in its third incarnation the website is constantly being improved and developed and will continue to serve an important role in achieving our goal.

meet us and others...
We organise meet ups (usually on a monthly basis) somewhere in Cambridge. This is a great networking opportunity to meet other filmmakers and actors and to see whether there are any projects that you can get involved in.
We look forward to meeting and working with you!
